Moving Advice
If you are planning on doing this yourself, begin at least two weeks before your move. Label your boxes with details of their contents and the room in which they are to be placed in at the new address. Do not pack heavy objects with the lighter ones. Do not overstrain boxes or your back. Sort out rubbish. Sell used items or simply give them away.
Get your car serviced particularly if you are going on a long journey. Notify your bank about your move ie address and consider changing to a branch that is closer to your new destination. Don't forget about any belongings you have stored within a bank or anything of that nature. Check, check and check again.
If you have children, notify the school of the date you're leaving and look into new schools that are close to your new location. Notify your local tax office regarding your new location.
The post office prefer 7 days notice with regards to redirection of your mail, so get this done as soon as possible.
De-register with dentist, doctor and opticians etc.give appropriate notice to quit or advise tenants of any change of landlord.
